Update

Sun Apr 15, 2007, 5:07 PM
Four days till surgery, my headaches are getting worse, feeling anxious about the operation - but I'm sure things will be better on Friday. I can't thank my family and friends enough for the great support and prayers that everyone has given me. A special thanks to Omeros for being such a good online friend and reaching out to me, he is a great guy. I will be sure and update everyone as things progress.

Thanks again - Bob

Asking for your Prayers

Tue Apr 10, 2007, 4:50 AM
I am reaching out to my friends and fellow photographers and asking for your prayers and positive thoughts.

About a month ago I started to have some really bad headaches, to make a long story story short after a series of tests and scans I have been diagnosed with a brain tumor specifivally on my pituatary gland.

The pituitary is a pea-sized organ in the center of the brain above the back of the nose. It makes hormones that affect other glands and many body functions. Most pituitary tumors are benign (not cancer). My tumor is about the size of a golf ball.

The hard thing is my tumor is causing constant headaches and some vision loss, so I have opted to have surgery to have it removed because I am no loger allowed to drive my car or work at my day job. My surgery is scheduled for next Thursday April 19th.

I am asking for your prayers and positive thoughts during my surgery and after care, recovery time is 4 to 6 weeks post surgery. I apologize for the depressing story but I really need support right now, thanks for taking the time to listen.

New Gear

Fri Jan 5, 2007, 6:31 AM
Bought some new lenses to get better pictures.

I bought a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM for portrait work and a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM for better sports photography. I am amazed at the difference an 'L' lense makes in your photos.
